NEW HIRE COMMITMENT TO LTR
Aside from pre-employment driving record review and drug screenings, as part of LTR new employee orientation, LTR has implemented the “Personal Commitment to My Employer and Myself”. Employees are given a card that outlines what is expected of them as an LTR employee, highlighting safety, integrity and commitment.
SAFETY COIN PROGRAM
“Safety Coins” are distributed to a selected group of individuals who are charged with “catching people doing something right”; the coins are then given to the employee along with an explanation of the LTR vision, values, and importance of safety. Those employees are then charged with passing along the coin to the next level.
Purpose: Drive and reward safe behaviors at all levels of LTR.
SAFETY OBSERVATION PROGRAM
The purpose of the Safety Observation Program is to proactively observe employees during job duties and reinforce good safety habits while correcting any deficiencies. The overall goal is to leave the employee with a positive impression and will not be used as a disciplinary tool.
STOP WORK AUTHORITY
Leadership at LTR is committed to performing tasks in a way that is safe for our employees, customers and the environment. For that reason, LTR empowers all of its employees to STOP WORK if he or she feels there is a danger to themselves, others or their surroundings.
The LTR safety commitment is ingrained in its corporate culture and Management trusts the judgment of its employees to discontinue activity or operations that they deem to be unsafe. Management is available 24/7 to provide support and guidance in STOP WORK situations.
EMPLOYEE ONLINE MONTHLY SAFETY TRAINING
Our on-line safety program leverages state-of-the-art training courses delivered in a web-based Learning and Safety Management System. Course topics are administered to align with each employee’s role and responsibilities. We achieve 100% completion of Safety Training each month.
JOB SAFETY ANALYSIS (JSA)
LTR has a JSA program that requires staff to complete the JSA form at the beginning of every day, and before each task or delivery. The JSA process asks employees to identify task steps, hazards, and controls prior to performing the task at hand. During the JSA process employees review equipment Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), identify the proper PPE required, identify any Lock Out/Tag requirements and review any site specific requirements.
STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES
SOP’s have been written and updated to be the standard for training all field employees on the most frequently performed job tasks. SOP’s are a way to consistently train the same procedures across LTR, in a safe and consistent manner. LTR employees have access to all SOP’s through our SOP Complete mobile application.
